Bullseye GX Welcomes Shalane Bright as Genetic Sales and Development Manager for Beef Cattle

Bullseye GX announced today it has welcomed Shalane (Darnall) Bright as Genetic Sales and Development Manager for Beef Cattle.

With a lifelong background in ranching and extensive experience in cattle genetics, Bright will play a key role in supporting producers and advancing Bullseye GX’s mission to deliver affordable, actionable genetic data to its customers.

Born and raised on a farm and feedlot/ranch in Western Nebraska, Bright gained firsthand experience in cow/calf operations, feedlot management, and crop production from an early age. Over the past 10 years, she has focused on genetic testing for bulls to enhance herd quality. In the last six years, her work has expanded to include breeding strategies aimed at reducing the risk of Bovine Congestive Heart Failure (also known as Brisket Disease), a crucial area of concern for cattle producers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shalane to the team,” said Phil Kozera, Co-Founder and CEO. “Her expertise and passion will be invaluable as we continue our work to support producers affected by Brisket Disease and other genetic conditions. The addition of Shalane strengthens our capabilities and furthers our commitment to serving the beef cattle industry.”

As Bullseye GX’s Genetic Sales and Development Manager for Beef Cattle, Bright will work closely with producers to develop custom solutions that help manage brisket disease and reduce its impact on future generations. This includes providing accurate genetic data to enable informed decisions for the management, proper breeding, and care of their animals. In addition to her role, she and her family will continue to manage their cow/calf operation and small yearling business in Western Nebraska, allowing her to stay closely connected to the industry she serves.

“I am excited to join Bullseye GX and for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the industry,” said Bright. “It’s motivating to help producers reduce the risk of brisket disease while producing high-quality cattle, and I look forward to collaborating with producers to improve the long-term health and profitability of their herds.”
